AI in the Ghanaian Classroom

Across Ghana, educational technology (EdTech) startups and schools are adopting AI-powered platforms to improve learning outcomes. Tools like eCampus Ghana use AI to analyze student performance and recommend personalized exercises, while organizations such as MEST Africa and Innohub are training young innovators to build AI-driven educational products.

In Accra, for instance, some secondary schools are experimenting with adaptive learning software that adjusts to each student’s pace. “AI allows teachers to identify where students struggle the most and tailor lessons accordingly,” says Dr. Lydia Mensah, an educational technology researcher at the University of Ghana.

These innovations are helping bridge resource gaps in public education. Where teacher-to-student ratios are high, AI-powered systems can assist in providing targeted feedback that teachers may not have time to offer manually.
